Samsung came in second place having an estimate of 8 million tablet deliveries and 20 percent on the market. Lenovo was third place with 3.8 million shipments. Amazon came in fourth place with 3.5 million shipped and Huawei was fifth with 2.7 million deliveries.
“While vaccine rollouts and businesses returning to offices may slow down the work-from-home trend, we are still far from returning to ‘normal’ working conditions and hence the demand for tablets, especially detachables, is expected to continue for a while,” said IDC research analyst Anuroopa Nataraj.
IDC states that tablets used to have been the preferred option in the market for education however, Chromebooks are rapidly becoming popular across the U.S., Western Europe as well as, recently in Japan.
